State legislature requests funding and support for delegates and officers of the Native Hawaiian Convention (Aha Hawai'i O'iwi) to complete their work.

Legislature previously funded one-half the cost of the 1996 Native Hawaiian vote, which sent ballots to over 80,000 Native Hawaiians asking whether to elect delegates to propose a Native Hawaiian government.

The 1996 vote resulted in over 30,000 votes counted with 73% voting in favor of forming the Native Hawaiian Convention.

The Native Hawaiian Convention is tasked with proposing a Native Hawaiian government structure to constituents, with ratified results intended to form the basis for negotiations with state and federal governments regarding Native Hawaiian self-governance.

Requires certified copies be sent to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and Chairperson of the Native Hawaiian Convention.
