H.R. 164 - Water

• Requests the Department of Land and Natural Resources to reevaluate and update the state water projects plan (last updated in 2003) and the 1995 North Kona water master plan.

• Directs the department to determine current and projected potable water source, storage, and transmission requirements for state projects in North Kona, including the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii, Kona International Airport, and Hawaii Community College at Palamanui.

• Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to submit a report with findings, recommendations, and estimated costs to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes.

• Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Board of Land and Natural Resources, Hawaiian Homes Commission, County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply, Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Board of Directors, and Hawaii Community College at Palamanui Chancellor.
