Requests the Department of Education, with assistance from the Department of Human Services, to determine whether children from families receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal funds have higher rates of truancy or excessive absenteeism.

Directs the Department of Education to consider and evaluate programs designed to encourage or ensure school attendance for children living in households receiving TANF funding.

Requires the Department of Education to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2012.
