Requests the Hawaii Department of Agriculture to enforce the federal trademark for 100 percent Kona coffee to protect its reputation and prevent counterfeiting.

Recognizes Kona coffee as world-renowned for its distinctive flavor and aroma, grown exclusively on volcanic slopes along the west coast of the Big Island since the early 1800s.

Notes past trademark exploitation, including a 1990s case where Kona Kai Farms was found selling Central American coffee mislabeled as Kona coffee.

Directs that a certified copy of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture.
