H.R. 222 - Symphony Task Force

• Request the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to convene a task force to explore creation of a new, sustainable symphony following the Honolulu Symphony's liquidation in 2009.

• Task force recommendations must include a plan for a sustainable symphony that serves the community and provides Hawaii students exposure to symphony performances.

• Task force membership must include the Executive Director of the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, representatives from the Honolulu Symphony Society, Musicians' Association of Hawaii Local 677 AFM, and Honolulu Youth Symphony.

• Task force must select a chairperson and other officers from among its members and submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session begins.
