Hawaii House of Representatives requests all domestic and foreign insurance companies that have issued commercial general liability policies in the state to submit information on total premiums received over the past ten years.

Submission deadline set for May 3, 2011, in response to a Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals decision that construction defect claims are not covered under contractors' general liability policies.

Addresses concerns that contractors and developers who purchased general liability policies expecting coverage for construction defect claims would be left unprotected following the court ruling.

Certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the State Insurance Commissioner, Hawaii Insurers Council, General Contractors Association of Hawaii, and Building Industry Association of Hawaii.
