Request Hawaii Tourism Authority to convene a task force to study opportunities to promote and expand heritage tourism in Hawaii.

Task force shall be composed of the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (or designee), representative from State Historic Preservation Division, representative from State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and Chairperson of Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board.

Task force shall invite representatives from 18 specified cultural and historic organizations including Bishop Museum, Friends of Iolani Palace, Pacific Aviation Museum, Pearl Harbor Memorial Association, and other heritage tourism focused groups.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Hawaii Tourism Authority shall serve as Chairperson of the task force.

Hawaii Tourism Authority shall submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes.
