H.R. 270 Summary

• Requests the State Auditor to conduct a management audit of the University of Hawaii system and all ten of its individual campuses located across four islands

• Directs the audit to identify instances of unintentional redundancies and recommend system improvements, noting that smaller island campuses may reduce operational efficiency and economies of scale

• Requires the Auditor to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes

• Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Auditor, the Board of Regents Chairperson, and the University of Hawaii President
