Honors five Maui paniolo (Hawaiian cowboys) recognized as Living Treasures: Charles A. Kahaleauki Sr., Charles "Chunga" A. Kahaleauki Jr., Francis Napua Po'ouahi, and Carl "Soot" H. Bredhoff Jr. of Kaupo Ranch, and Merton G. Kekiwi Sr. of Ulupalakua Ranch.

Recognizes the paniolo legacy dating to 1793 when Captain George Vancouver presented King Kamehameha I with five black longhorn cattle, leading to the development of Hawaii's cattle industry and ranching traditions.

Commends the honorees for preserving traditional paniolo skills and customs including hoaupipi (ship-to-shore transfer), kaula ili (cowhide rope making), and noho lio (Hawaiian saddle making).

Acknowledges these individuals as exemplary ranchers, horsemen, and cattlemen who have dedicated their lives to maintaining cowboy culture and passing their knowledge to the next generation of paniolo.

Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to all five honorees.
