Commends and congratulates Henk Rogers, Blue Planet Foundation, its Board of Directors, and staff for their commitment to sustainability in Hawaii.

Recognizes Blue Planet Foundation's founding in 2007 with a mission to end fossil fuel use, including a 2008 sustainability summit with national leaders in science, government, arts, and industry.

Acknowledges recent achievements including replacement of 100,000 traditional light bulbs with energy-efficient alternatives, installation of 100 solar water heaters on Hawaiian homestead homes, and production of "Hawaii Home Energy Makeover 2" television program.

Notes current goals encompassing an energy-efficiency plan for Kauai, phase two of Molokai's "Go Green and Carbon Clean" campaign, and solar installation projects for schools and community centers.
