Request the Department of Education, Department of Land and Natural Resources, and county planning departments to compile a report listing all properties under their jurisdiction that are abandoned, underutilized, unused, or unoccupied.

Required report information includes location, tax map key, zoning, land classification, ownership, current use status, building description and pictures, and suitability for educational, recreational, health, and human services programs.

Specifically identify public schools facing closure or consolidation whose facilities could serve multiple community needs including housing, early learning centers, and senior services.

Submit completed reports to the Legislature by 20 days prior to the 2012 Regular Session, with copies to Senate Committee on Human Services and Public Housing and House Committee on Human Services and Housing.

Encourage co-location and sharing of state and county properties among educational, recreational, health, and human services program providers to address multiple community needs and maximize existing property usage.
