Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 378-32 to make it unlawful for employers or labor organizations to bar, discharge, withhold pay from, or demote employees solely for using accrued and available sick leave.

Applies only to employers with 100 or more employees who have a collective bargaining agreement with their workforce.

Allows employers to require written physician verification after an employee uses three or more consecutive days of sick leave.

Does not supersede any collective bargaining agreement or employment benefit program that provides greater employee benefits or rights.

Effective July 1, 2011.
