Creates a task force under the University of Hawaii Kapiolani Community College to study feasibility of transferring approximately 1.5 acres of state land to establish a legacy center for the 100th Infantry Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.

Task force membership includes representatives from University of Hawaii Kapiolani Community College, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Department of Defense, Hawaii National Guard, the 100th/442nd organization, neighborhood boards, and community stakeholders.

Task force must study land transfer issues including title and leases, zoning and land classification, and alternative sites such as a portion of the former Cannon Club property (7.88 acres, tax map key (1) 3-1-42:011).

Proposed location is on Diamond Head slopes adjacent to University of Hawaii Kapiolani Community College at the corner of Diamond Head Road and Makapuu Avenue, part of the Diamond Head State Monument.

Task force must report findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 regular session convenes.
