S.B. 1309 Summary

• Establishes fees charged by the lieutenant governor: $10 for apostilles or certifications, 50 cents per page for photostat copies, and discretionary charges for other acts as prescribed.

• Authorizes the lieutenant governor to issue apostilles and other certifications of state documents as part of secretary of state duties under section 26-1.

• Modifies section 91-2.5 to reference the lieutenant governor's fee schedule for reproducing rules in the general collection, replacing reference to section 92-21.

• Requires the auditor to examine whether a special fund for lieutenant governor fees would adequately fund administrative and operational costs, including cost and revenue projections, with findings due to the legislature 20 days before the 2012 regular session.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2011.
