Appropriates $2,963,411 for fiscal year 2011-2012 and an equal amount for fiscal year 2012-2013 to provide additional funding for the Kupuna Care program, in addition to the existing $4,854,350 executive office on aging base budget.

Kupuna Care is a home- and community-based program established in 1999 that provides affordable long-term care services as an alternative to hospitals, nursing homes, and other traditional care facilities.

The program offers nine core services: adult day care, attendant care, case management, chore services, homemaker services, personal care, assisted transportation, Kupuna Care transportation, and home delivered meals.

In fiscal year 2008, the program served 3,277 individuals with meal delivery, 1,744 elders with case management, 874 with personal care, and 597 with homemaker services.

Effective date is July 1, 2011.
