Repeals Chapter 393, Part V of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, which contained the sunset provision allowing automatic termination of the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act upon passage of greater federal protections.

Repeals Act 99 (Session Laws of Hawaii 1994), which had previously eliminated the sunset provision conditioned on enactment of certain federal law.

Permanently preserves the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act, which has provided comprehensive health insurance coverage to Hawaii residents for over thirty years and established the state as a national leader in health care policy.

Takes effect upon approval, immediately removing language that could trigger automatic repeal of the Act in response to federal health care legislation.
