SB 58 - Medical Cannabis Summary

• Increases adequate supply limit from 3 mature plants and 1 ounce to 10 cannabis plants and 5 ounces of usable cannabis per qualifying patient at any given time.

• Allows primary caregivers to serve up to 3 qualifying patients instead of only 1 patient at any given time.

• Permits registered qualifying patients and primary caregivers to transfer cannabis between each other without payment and grants transport immunity from prosecution for registered patients transporting medical cannabis.

• Makes the location where cannabis is grown confidential and removes the requirement that certifying physicians be the patient's primary care physician.

• Adds "reimbursement" as permissible consideration for primary caregivers to offset costs of assisting patients, while prohibiting the sale of controlled substances.
