S.B. NO. 655 Summary

• Requires the director of taxation to provide county real property assessment divisions with images of all filed certificates of conveyance within ten days after the end of each week, at no charge.

• Each certificate image must include the document number, filing date, names of grantor and grantee, tax map key number, island location, and address for tax assessment notices and bills.

• Makes minor grammatical corrections to Hawaii Revised Statutes §247-6, replacing "such" with "any" and "which" with "that" in relevant provisions.

• Enables counties to promptly track ownership, encumbrances, restrictions, uses, and sales prices of real property for tax assessment purposes.

• Effective July 1, 2050.
