Requires health insurance policies issued or renewed after December 31, 2011 to cover the cost of hearing aids for policyholders and covered individuals as part of base coverage, not as an optional employer benefit

Applies to private health insurers under Chapter 431:10A and mutual benefit societies under Chapter 432:1, but excludes accident-only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care, dental, vision, and other limited benefit plans

Coverage may be subject to deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and annual or maximum payment limits consistent with other similar coverage under the policy

Requires all insurers to provide written notice to policyholders about hearing aid coverage by December 31, 2011, prominently positioned in literature and correspondence

Extends the same hearing aid coverage requirement to health maintenance organizations for policies issued after December 31, 2011
