Supports 10 best management practices for new installations or major renovations including system designs with coverage tests, automatic controllers with weather/soil sensors, drip irrigation, and use of qualified certified irrigation designers.

Supports 6 best management practices for maintenance including seasonal adjustments, periodic water audits, deep and infrequent watering, mulch use, and attendance at water conservation seminars by landscape professionals.

Encourages all state and county agencies and large water users to adopt LICH's Irrigation Water Conservation Best Management Practices to improve efficiency of existing and new landscape irrigation installations.
