Request Department of Health to certify its water quality testing laboratory and expeditiously classify land- and ocean-based shellfish growing areas throughout the State.

Direct Department of Health to fully implement all components of the state shellfish sanitation program to enable certification and sale of locally produced shellfish for local consumption.

Require Department of Health to consult with University of Hawaii shellfish biologists and industry experts to develop a prioritized list of locations for testing and classification.

Request Department of Health to cooperate with shellfish industry members and state agencies to plan and develop expanded commercial shellfish culture for seed and seafood production.

Require Director of Health to submit a report on actions taken to the Legislature no later than 20 days prior to the convening of the 2012 Regular Session.
