Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) to work with Moanalua Gardens Foundation to execute a Memorandum of Understanding for educational and cultural use of Kamananui (Moanalua) Valley.

Recognizes Kamananui Valley as a 3,700-acre undeveloped ahupua'a in urban Honolulu that DLNR opened to the public in 2008 following acquisition from the Samuel Mills Damon Estate in March 2007.

Acknowledges Moanalua Gardens Foundation's 40+ year history of protecting and preserving the valley, including managing the Partners in Education program serving over 100,000 public school children and hosting the annual Prince Lot Hula Festival for 34 years.

Requests DLNR submit a report on progress toward a Memorandum of Understanding with findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Board of Land and Natural Resources and the President of Moanalua Gardens Foundation.
