Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs is requested to convene a task force chaired by its Director to develop collaborative enforcement strategies against unlicensed contractor activity.

Task force composition includes two representatives each from the Department of Attorney General, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Disability Compensation Division, Occupational Safety and Health Division, Unemployment Insurance Division, Department of Taxation, and three representatives from the contracting industry.

Task force is requested to review currently available sanctions for contractor licensing violations and recommend additional sanctions, including criminal penalties if warranted.

Task force is requested to invite representatives from each county construction permitting department to participate.

Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes.
