Request that the Civil Defense Division of the Hawaii Department of Defense work with county civil defense and emergency management agencies to evaluate tsunami evacuation sites across all four counties in the State.

Require evaluation of evacuation sites to assess elevation, distance from shoreline, proximity to hazardous infrastructure, and vulnerability to tsunami effects including wind damage, flooding, and debris inundation.

Direct the Civil Defense Division to submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the 2012 Regular Session.

Reference the March 10-11, 2011 tsunami warnings when many residents were directed to evacuation sites located close to shorelines and in low-lying areas, prompting the need for this review.
