Requests the President of the University of Hawaii System to convene an academic symposium to consider establishing a Hawaiian Language University within the system.

Directs the President to consult with the Puko'a Council and Hawaiian language studies program representatives during symposium planning.

Requires the symposium to address mission, governance, curriculum and degrees, facilities, financial resources, implementation timeline, and other relevant issues for a Hawaiian Language University.

Mandates the President report findings and recommendations to the Legislature and Governor no later than twenty days before the 2012 Regular Session convenes.

Notes Hawaii is the only state with a designated native language and that Hawaiian language speakers have grown since 2000, partly due to University of Hawaii System programs.
