Recognizes and honors the life-saving contributions and sacrifices made by organ and tissue donors and their families in Hawaii.

Notes that over 110,000 people nationally, including over 400 in Hawaii, are on waiting lists for transplants, with approximately 17 people dying daily for lack of donors.

Acknowledges that one organ donor can enhance the lives of more than 40 people and that over 1,000 Hawaiians have benefited from organ and tissue donations over the past 12 years.

Commends organizations including the Hawaii Donor Family Council, Hawaii Lions Eye Bank and Makana Foundation, National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, Legacy of Life Hawaii, and Hawaii Coalition on Donation for their support of donors and donor families.

Encourages all people of Hawaii to register as organ and tissue donors and commit to healthy living.
