Department of Agriculture requested to convene a working group to review the duties, responsibilities, and performance of the Agribusiness Development Corporation established in 1994.

Working group consists of 11 members including the Board of Agriculture Chairperson (chair), Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, University of Hawaii Dean, and representatives from Hawaii Community Development Authority and Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation, plus members with expertise in agricultural marketing, financing, transportation, processing, water systems, and land management.

Working group directed to assess the Agribusiness Development Corporation's ability to address current and future agricultural issues and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and enhance programs.

Department of Agriculture required to submit working group findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 Regular Session convening.

Legislative Reference Bureau requested to assist with drafting legislation if needed, with draft proposals due to the bureau no later than November 1, 2011.
