• Requests the Civil Defense Division of the State Department of Defense to install additional civil defense warning sirens in areas still without them as a matter of immediate urgency.

• Directs the Civil Defense Division to ensure all existing sirens are in working order at all times in case of disaster emergencies, following inoperable sirens reported during the March 11, 2011 tsunami.

• Requires the Civil Defense Division to report to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 Regular Session convening on the status and progress of siren installations and maintenance efforts.
