Department of the Attorney General is requested to examine existing federal and state laws and local agency rules relating to confidentiality, privacy, and privilege and their impact on interagency information sharing for juveniles.

Attorney General is requested to review development of a system for interagency information sharing to reduce service redundancy in juvenile justice and youth-serving agencies.

Attorney General must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2012 Regular Session.

Resolution recognizes that fragmented systems and poor coordination among agencies serving at-risk and delinquent youth have created confusion and miscommunication, and that collaborative information sharing could improve service efficiency and effectiveness.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Attorney General, Directors of Human Services and Health, Superintendent of Education, and all county Prosecuting Attorneys and Chiefs of Police.
