HI HB1162

Prohibits the contractors license board from considering unlicensed experience in the State or any other state as a qualification for licensing.

Creates an exception allowing the board to consider unlicensed work experience if the applicant resided in a state or foreign jurisdiction that lacks an established contractor licensing system or cannot provide evidence of prior licensing.

Requires the board to reasonably determine the applicant has gained sufficient experience within the State prior to submitting a licensure application when applying the exception.

Effective July 1, 2112.
