Exempts diesel oil purchased for use in equipment owned and operated by county fire departments from the 2 cents per gallon diesel oil tax imposed under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 243-4(a).

Exempts diesel oil purchased for use in equipment owned and operated by county fire departments from the additional 15 cents per gallon state diesel tax for motor vehicles operating on public highways imposed under Section 243-4(b).

Adds underscored language to Section 243-4(a) and Section 243-4(b) specifying the county fire department exemptions.

Takes effect upon approval, with a provision that amendments to Section 243-4(a) shall not be repealed when that section is reenacted on December 31, 2012.
