Removes the civil service exemptions for first deputy sheriff and second deputy sheriff positions, making them subject to standard civil service procedures and requirements.

Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 76-16(b)(25) to change the exemption from "Sheriff, first deputy sheriff, and second deputy sheriff" to only "The sheriff."

Effective date of January 1, 2013 for the change in civil service status of deputy sheriff positions.
