Legislature finds an overpopulation of axis deer on the island of Lanai, with the 2012 bag limit set at one deer per hunter by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to establish a bag limit of two axis deer of either sex per hunter for the 2012 hunting season on any island with a resident population between 1,000 and 5,000.

Increasing the bag limit is intended to assist in the eradication of axis deer on affected islands.

Takes effect upon approval.
