Allows the auditor's salary to be diminished during the auditor's term of office through general law applicable to all salaried officers of the State.

Changes the auditor's salary protection from absolute non-diminishment to non-diminishment unless reduced by general law applying to all state salaried officers.

Aligns the auditor's salary provisions with those of the legislative reference bureau director and ombudsman, who head other legislative service agencies.

Maintains that the auditor's salary shall equal the director of health's salary, effective July 1, 2005.

Applies to the current auditor serving at the bill's effective date, preventing salary diminishment unless by general law enacted after the bill's approval.
