Amend the deadline for filing nomination papers for Board of Trustees vacancies at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to sixty days prior to a general election instead of fifty days.

Current law creates risk of violating the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010, which requires mailing absentee ballots to uniformed and overseas voters no later than forty-five days before an election.

Extended filing deadline provides the Office of Elections sufficient time to print and mail ballots to overseas and uniformed voters in compliance with federal law.
