Office of Hawaiian Affairs shall establish one full-time equivalent permanent genealogies manager position.

Genealogies manager shall gather, verify, and create a database of genealogies for persons with claims to kuleana lands.

Genealogies manager shall consult and coordinate with the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Land Division, Bureau of Conveyances, and Land Court to identify kuleana lands where title has been quieted in favor of non-native Hawaiians.

Appropriation of funds from general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2012-2013 to establish the genealogies manager position (amount to be determined).

Act takes effect July 1, 2012.
