• Establishes an 11-member coastal memorials task force within the department of land and natural resources, including representatives from the board of land and natural resources, transportation department, legislature, counties, and community members.

• Task force shall review the safety implications of erecting coastal memorials on public coastal lands and develop standards to regulate the practice, considering size, placement, and duration.

• Defines "coastal memorials" as impromptu structures built on public coastal land to commemorate a person's death.

• Requires the task force to submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2012 regular legislative session.

• Task force ceases to exist on June 30, 2012.
