Director of the Executive Office on Aging is requested to establish a long-term care financing task force to study the feasibility of establishing a modest, public, long-term care insurance program in Hawaii.

Task force composition includes the Director of the Executive Office on Aging as Chair, six individuals from the long-term care community and insurance industry (three selected by Senate President, three by House Speaker), one Senator, and one House member.

Task force must address 11 specific issues including eligibility age limits, employment definitions, premium collection methods, benefit amounts, program administration, and whether low-income exemptions or subsidies should be provided.

Task force members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for necessary expenses including travel.

Task force must submit report with findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2013 Regular Session and dissolve on June 30, 2013.
