• Request Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to implement section 323F-25, HRS, requiring collaboration between community hospitals and federally-qualified health centers to maximize state and federal funding, improve reimbursement, acquire capital investment funds, expand service hours, and ensure appropriate care levels.

• Direct Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to develop an integration plan for seven specified rural hospitals (Kohala Hospital, Hale Hoola Hamakua, Kau Hospital, Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, Kula Hospital, and Lanai Community Hospital) into federally-qualified health centers.

• Require Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to submit a progress report and integration plan to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2013 Regular Session convenes.

• Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Governor, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, and Chairperson of the Hawaii Health Authority.
