Requests the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the National Association of Social Workers, Hawaii Chapter, to collaborate on developing, implementing, and monitoring continuing education requirements for all licensed social workers in Hawaii

Directs the two entities to submit a proposed draft bill to the Legislature at least 20 days prior to the Regular Session of 2013 establishing continuing education requirements for licensed social workers

The National Association of Social Workers and concerned individuals supported the measure while the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs offered comments

House Committee on Human Services concurred with the intent and purpose of the resolution and recommended referral to the Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce
