Encourages the United States Department of Defense to procure a greater percentage of goods and services from Hawaii businesses for its Hawaii-based military personnel and facilities.

Urges appropriate Department of Defense agencies to cooperate with The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii to manage trade shows and events showcasing locally-sourced goods and services to military contracting officers.

Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii testified in support of the measure.

Committee on Public Safety & Military Affairs concurs with the intent and purpose and recommends referral to the Committee on Economic Revitalization & Business.
