Honors Kaeokulani Vasconcellos (Roosevelt High School) as 2012 Honolulu District Teacher of the Year, Meghan McCormick (Wheeler Middle School) as 2012 Central Oahu District Teacher of the Year, and Luane Higuchi (Waianae Intermediate School) as 2012 Leeward Oahu District Teacher of the Year.

Recognizes Nancy Iaukea (Pahoa High and Intermediate School) as 2012 Hawaii District Teacher of the Year, Mitzi Hasegawa (Hana Elementary and High School) as 2012 Maui District Teacher of the Year, and Sheriann Moises (Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School) as 2012 Kauai District Teacher of the Year.

Honors Amber Strong Makaiau from Kailua High School as the 2012 recipient of the Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Culturally Responsive Teaching for her work with the Asian/Pacific Islander Youth Violence Prevention Center.
