Notes that diabetes is a growing epidemic in Hawaii, with projections of 20,000 cases among Native Hawaiians and 28,000 undiagnosed cases in the general population this year alone

Highlights the Association's major community initiatives including the Driving "Fore" a Cure Golf Tournament, Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes, and diabetes health fairs

Recognizes the Association's contribution to public education, awareness, and advocacy efforts to halt and reverse the diabetes trend in Hawaii
