HR63 - State Capitol War Memorial

• Hawaii Office of Veterans' Services, with assistance from the Department of Accounting and General Services and Department of Defense, is requested to develop a plan for a memorial on State Capitol grounds honoring veterans of the Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn.

• Memorial is to be located near the existing Korean and Vietnam War Memorial on the State Capitol grounds.

• Office of Veterans' Services is directed to hold a public hearing to receive comments and input from interested organizations, Hawaii residents, and the general public regarding the memorial plan.

• Office of Veterans' Services must submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than January 1, 2013.

• Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the Adjutant General, Director of the Office of Veterans' Services, and the Comptroller.
