HI SB2003

Increases the fee for serving civil summons, warrants, attachments, or other civil process from $25 to $40, effective July 1, 2012.

Increases the fee for serving subpoenas and subpoena duces tecum or garnishee summons from $25 and $15 respectively to $40 each, effective July 1, 2012.

Authorizes private civil process servers to perform service of process and requires them to be duly qualified by law.

Repeals provisions allowing sheriffs or police chiefs to retain a percentage of fees or expenses collected by their subordinates for process serving.

Excludes private civil process server fees, mileage, and expenses from any police benefit fund requirements, effective July 1, 2050.
