HI SB2250

Authorizes the Hawaii paroling authority to impose a continuum of administrative sanctions instead of revoking parole for violations of parole terms and conditions.

Available sanctions include modifications to parole conditions, house arrest, electronic monitoring, substance abuse treatment, sex offender treatment, anger management counseling, and domestic abuse counseling.

Allows reimprisonment for technical violations for a period not to exceed two years before parole reconsideration, rather than full revocation.

Does not apply if the parolee has a pending criminal matter or prior parole revocation.

Takes effect January 1, 2025.
