SB 2278 Summary

• Requires establishments to post a poster (minimum 8.5" x 11") in a conspicuous location with information about the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline (1-888-373-7888) and human trafficking resources.

• Applies to liquor license holders, airports, hospitals, health maintenance organizations, clinics, urgent care centers, farms, massage parlors, and job recruitment centers.

• Poster must be printed in English, Spanish, and any other languages mandated by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in the relevant county.

• Department must provide an electronic version of the poster on its public website for establishments to print.

• Violations subject to civil penalties of up to $1,000 per offense, with each date of violation constituting a separate offense.
