Requires unused public school facilities be made available to pre-plus programs in addition to charter schools prior to sale by the Department of Land and Natural Resources

Directs the Department of Education to identify and give reasonable consideration to making all or portions of unused public school facilities available for use by early learning programs and other purposes deemed appropriate by the Board of Education

Aims to ensure the full and efficient use of public school facilities

Department of Education and Department of Human Services supported the measure; Office of Hawaiian Affairs opposed it

Committee on Education recommends passage and referral to the Committee on Water, Land, & Ocean Resources
