Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 321-14.5(c) to allow Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accreditation to demonstrate hospital compliance with state licensing inspections.

Exempts hospitals from state licensing inspections on a continuing basis throughout the entire term of their JCAHO accreditation, rather than limiting the exemption to only the year the accreditation is issued.

Requires hospitals seeking this exemption to provide a certified copy of their official JCAHO accreditation report to the department of health.

Maintains requirements that hospitals must continuously hold full JCAHO accreditation and maintain a current and valid state license to qualify for the inspection exemption.

Becomes effective July 1, 2012.
