S.B. 2990 Summary

• Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) shall contract with an independent third party to develop a long-range plan for Aloha Stadium.

• The plan must include a feasibility study analyzing the cost benefits of transferring Aloha Stadium operations from DAGS to the University of Hawaii.

• The feasibility study shall evaluate the feasibility and cost benefits of giving University of Hawaii responsibility for operation, maintenance, promotion, and management of Aloha Stadium.

• DAGS must report findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2013 regular session convenes.

• Appropriates funds from the stadium special fund for fiscal year 2012-2013 to pay for the third-party contract and feasibility study; takes effect July 1, 2012.
